Symptom



When attempting to start the Windows deployment services from the Windows services management console, the Windows deployment service terminates with the following error:

Windows could not start the Windows deployment Services (WDS) Server on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a Non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code - 1056635134.

System Event log error:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event ID: 7024
Description:
The Windows Deployment Services (WDS) Server service terminated with
service-specific error 3238332162 (0xC1050702).

Cause

Windows Deployment Server has not been configured. The service is unable to start until the server has been configured.
