The FSCStarter.exe process in Forefront Security for Exchange Server stops responding and a Dr. Watson crash occurs that references Bucket ID 1051284231
In Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server, the FSCStarter.exe process stops responding. This generates a Dr. Watson crash that references Bucket ID 1051284231.
Additionally, the following problems may occur:
- Template settings are not applied.
- The installation crashes on a server that is running Windows Server 2008.
Additionally, the following error may also be logged to the ProgramLog.txt file:
Error: A programLog Mutex could not be created: hr(0x80004005), Status(0x00000000)
To resolve this problem, install Forefront Security for Exchange Server with Service Pack 2 (SP2).
