On a Windows XP or a Windows Server 2003-based computer that has Internet Explorer 6 installed, you install Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer MS08-045 (KB 953838). When you access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system, you may be prompted with a File Download dialog for Blank.aspx.

To resolve this problem, install the most current cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To install the most current updates, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
  2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl
  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.
  4. Type the following key name, and then press ENTER:
    FEATURE_HANDLE_EMPTY_CONTENT_TYPE_AND_PAGE_KB957714
  5. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  6. Type iexplore.exe, and then press ENTER.
  7. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
  8. Type 1, and then click OK.
  9. Exit Registry Editor.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
