How to install the Web Console component of Operations Manager 2007 on a stand-alone server that is using Windows Authentication

INTRODUCTION

This article discusses how to install the Web Console component of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 on a stand-alone server that is using Windows Authentication. This feature is supported in System Center Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 and later versions only.

MORE INFORMATION

In the original release of Operations Manager 2007, you could use Windows Authentication to install the Web Console component only by installing the Web Console feature on the root management server (RMS). For more information, see the Operations Manager 2007 Design Guide. To download this guide, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 introduces a new Service Connection Point (MSOMSDKSvc). This Service Connection Point is registered by the SDK service on the RMS. Therefore, the Web Console component can be installed on a non-RMS server by using Web Console integrated Windows Authentication.
