An event 6044 warning message is logged in the Application log on a computer that is running Application Center 2000
On a computer that is running Microsoft Application Center 2000, a warning message that resembles the following message is logged in the Application log:
Event ID: 6044
Type: Warning
Description:
The instance ID of the HTMLA site could not be found in the
metabase. Status is 0x800cc801. The specified metadata was not found.
This problem occurs because the HTTP language-based administration (HTMLA) Web site is disabled on all servers. This Web site is disabled by default
When the Request Forwarder (RF) starts, the RF caches the Web site identifier for the Internet Information Services (IIS) Web site and for the Application Center Admin Web site. Then, the RF forwards the requests. These requests are always forwarded to the Application Center controller. However, when the RF tries to cache a Web site identifier that is not installed, a warning message is logged in the Application log. The warning message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section indicates that the Web site identifier for the HTMLA Web site is not installed. You also expect this warning message to be logged if you delete
the Admin Web site.
To resolve this problem, install the Internet Information Services (IIS) Admin service, or remove the Request Forwarder filter (RfFiltExt) on the IIS Internet Server API (ISAPI) filter tab.

How to remove the Request Forwarder ISAPI
Note If the Web sites use request forwarding, other problems may occur when you remove the RfFiltExt filter.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

The Request Forwarder may cause high CPU utilization and requests may be blank when you run Application Center 2000 in a cluster environment

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
