How to rename a cluster member after it has been added to the cluster in Application Center 2000

INTRODUCTION

We do not recommend that you rename a cluster member after it has been added to the cluster in Microsoft Application Center 2000. This article describes the recommended method to rename a cluster member.

To rename a cluster member after it has been added to the cluster, follow these steps:
  1. Remove the server that has to be renamed from the cluster.
  2. Clean the metabase to remove the cluster by using the ac cluster /clean command.
  3. Uninstall Application Center 2000.
  4. Rename the server, and then reinstall Application Center 2000.
  5. Add the server back to the cluster.
