Issues that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
| • | Consider the following scenario.
| • | You create a new content type in
Windows SharePoint Services
3.0. | | • | You add a column to the content type. | | • | You
set the column
type to Choice, and you
leave the default value of the column blank.
Additionally,
you specify the column as a
drop-down list. | | • | You create a new document library. | | • | You create a new document in this document library by
using the new content type. | In this scenario, the default value of the drop-down list is
not blank.
Notes| • | This issue does not occur if you delete all other content types in the document
library. | | • | This problem occurs when Windows SharePoint Services
3.0 works together with
Microsoft Office Excel 2003 or with Microsoft Office Word 2003. |
|
| • | You create a new document in Microsoft Office 2003 by using a
content type that is created in
Windows SharePoint Services
3.0. The content type contains a required column.
When you do this, the column is displayed in the new
document. However, the column does not have a mark to
indicate that the column is required.
Additionally, when you try
to save the document without specifying
a value for the required field, you receive the
following error message:Cannot perform this
operation. The file is no longer checked out or has been
deleted. |
| • | You
delete some content types from a document library in Windows SharePoint Services
3.0. However, some of these content types are still visible in Word 2003. |
