Collaboration related menu commands are not seen in the Site Actions menu in SharePoint Server 2007
SYMPTOMS
When you access a collaboration Web site, and then you click
Site Actions, you do not see some expected menu items in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. The menu items that you do not see include the following:
- Create Page
- Create Site
- Show Page Editing Toolbar
- View All Site Content
- View Reports
- Manage Content and Structure
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when publishing features are not enabled in the site and in site collection levels in SharePoint Server 2007.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:
- Activate the SharePoint Server Publishing Feature in the site collection. To do this:
- In the Web browser, type the URL of the portal site.

Authenticate as required.
- Click Site Actions, and then click Site Settings.
- Under Site Collection Administration, click Site collection features.
- To the right side of the Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure entry, click Activate.
- Activate the SharePoint Server Publishing Feature in the site. To do this:
- In the Web browser, type the URL of the portal site.

- Click Site Actions, and then click Site Settings.
- Under Site Administration, click Site features.
- To the right side of the Office SharePoint Server Publishing entry, click Activate.
