Consider the following scenario:
- You
install hotfix 907311 for Microsoft
Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003.
- You use the fan-out feature to configure an SMS 2003 multitier hierarchy.
- In the central site, you define packages for software
distribution.
- You add distribution points for a package from a site that
is under the site where the package was created.
In this scenario, the SMS 2003 Distribution Manager does not
delete the processed .srv files in the following folder on the primary site:
distmgr.inbox\incoming
Hotfix information
A
supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended
to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this
hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

This hotfix does not replace a previously released software
update.

The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time
(UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To
find the difference between UTC and local time, use the

Note After you apply this hotfix, the site can delete future .srv
files after that files are successfully processed. However, the site does not
delete those undeleted *.srv files that were generated before this hotfix was
applied.
