Error message when you try to create an audit report for the workflow events of a SharePoint Server 2007 site collection: "Report contains no data"

Article ID:953133
Last Review:June 23, 2008
Revision:1.1

SYMPTOMS

When you try to create an audit report for the workflow events of a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 site collection, the View Auditing Reports Web page displays the following error message:
Report contains no data.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because SharePoint Server 2007 does not create a predefined audit report for workflow events. This is true even though SharePoint Server 2007 maintains an audit report of workflow events.

MORE INFORMATION

You can use the SharePoint Server 2007 SDK to programmatically create a custom audit report for custom workflow events. You can create a custom audit report by adding a custom auditing entry to the audit report. Then, you can use this custom auditing entry to record events for the custom workflow and to display the audit report for the custom workflow events.
