The 2007 Office suite Service Pack 1 or post-Service Pack 1 updates are not detected when you run MBSA 1.2.1, the Office Scan Tool in SMS 2.0, or the Office Update Inventory Tool

Article ID:952678

Revision:1.1

SYMPTOMS

You install the 2007 Microsoft Office suite Service Pack 1 (SP1), or you install post-SP1 updates for the 2007 Office suite. Then, you run one of the following tools:
•Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) 1.2.1
•The Office Scan Tool in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0
•The Office Update Inventory Tool 2.2
When you do this, the service pack or the updates are not detected.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because MBSA 1.2.1, the Office Scan Tool in SMS 2.0, and the Office Update Inventory Tool 2.2 are not designed to detect the 2007 Office suite SP1 or post-SP1 updates for the 2007 Office suite.
