List of issues that are fixed

This hotfix package fixes the following issue:

• 952683  (http://kbalertz.com/Feedback.aspx?kbNumber=952683/ ) The welcome name on a site is not changed as expected after you edit the name of a user profile in SharePoint Server 2007

This hotfix package fixes the following issues that are not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

• When we you use the FullTextSqlQuery object to perform a full-text search on a server that is running SharePoint Server 2007, no search alerts are sent.
• When you set the securityTrimmingEnabled property of a SharePoint Server 2007 site to false in the Web.config file, the site is not displayed in the navigation bars as expected.
• You use the RunWithElevatedPrivileges function to impersonate the administrator in SharePoint Server 2007. After you do this, you may receive the following error message when you try to enumerate all user profiles:
  Access Denied. Only an administrator may enumerate through all user profiles.
• When you search a file by using a path property that contains more than 64 characters, many files may be returned.
  
  This problem occurs because the search value is truncated to 64 characters.
• Consider the following scenario:
  • You move folders around document libraries in SharePoint Server 2007 programmatically or by using the Explorer view.
  • You perform several incremental crawls.
  In this scenario, search results may be displayed incorrectly for the folder. Additionally, if you click some results that point to old locations, you may receive the following error message:
  404 Not Found
• The Add Colleague link, the Remove Colleague link, and the Manage Colleagues link in the Dutch version of the colleagues Web part in SharePoint Server 2007 are encoded incorrectly. These three links are displayed as the following:
  • Collega's toevoegen
  • Collega's verwijderen
  • Collega's beheren
  However, these links should be the following:
  • Collega's toevoegen
  • Collega's verwijderen
  • Collega's beheren
• You enable the Definition Extraction feature in SharePoint Server 2007. When you search for some words in SharePoint Server 2007, you may receive the following error message:
  Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator.
  For example, if you search for "Abbott," you may receive the error message.
• Some change objects may not be found when you search in SharePoint Server 2007.
  
  This problem occurs because the Web service of Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 returns the change log in pages. If one page of the change log is not changed, the change objects in the successive pages will not be indexed. However, the search is based on precise indexing of changed objects in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Therefore, some change objects may not be found.
• You do not have the Create Personal Site permissions in SharePoint Server 2007 Service Pack 1. When you click the Manage Links link, you may receive the following error message:
  An unknown error has occurred.
  To disable the Create Personal Site feature, follow these steps:
  1. On the Shared Services Administration home page, click Personalization services permissions in the User Profiles and My Sites section.
  2. Click NT Authority\Authenticated Users.
  3. Click to clear the Create Personal Site check box, and then click Save.
• When you click Quick Deploy Settings on SharePoint Server 2007 sites that are created based on language packs, you may receive the following error message:
  Error: Group cannot be found
• SharePoint Server 2007 has some link rendering issues. After you edit a page, and then you click Preview in the new window under the Tools menu, SharePoint 2007 may open the preview window by using incorrect URLs. This problem occurs even if you use the Alternative Access Mapping (AAM) feature.
• When you perform a search in Microsoft Search Server 2008, Search Server 2008 Express, or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, you may receive the following error message:
  Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer. If the Problem persists, contact your Web server Administrator.
  Note This issue may occur when all the following conditions are true:
  • The search term has a "discovered definition."
  • The search results contain a character that is incorrect in XML.
  When these conditions are true, Search Server and SharePoint Server 2007 do not remove the incorrect characters from the XML code before passing the code to the results Web part. The results Web part does not display the XML code as HTML when an incorrect character is present.

Hotfix information

Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
