Some customized Internet Explorer settings revert to their default configurations after you install cumulative update 942615 (MS07-069), 944533 (MS08-010), or 947864 (MS08-024) on a Windows Vista-based computer

SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. On a Windows Vista-based computer, you configure some settings in the
Internet Options dialog box in Windows Internet Explorer 7. Then, you install one of the following cumulative updates for Internet Explorer 7:
- 942615 (MS07-069)
- 944533 (MS08-010)
- 947864 (MS08-024)
However, after you install the update, you notice that the Internet Explorer settings that you configured have reverted to their default configurations.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the updates that are mentioned in the "Symptoms" section cause certain per-user settings to incorrectly revert to the computer's default configuration for new users.
RESOLUTION
Security update information
To resolve this problem, install the most current cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To install the most current updates, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Restart requirements
You must restart the computer after you install this update.
Update replacement information
This update replaces update 947864 (MS08-024).
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows Internet Explorer 7.
