Description of the March 2008 special daylight saving time (DST) update release of Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2

Article ID:951061
Last Review:May 13, 2008
Revision:2.1

INTRODUCTION

This article describes the March 2008 special daylight saving time (DST) update release of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2).

Microsoft has learned of a possible change to the observance of DST in Iraq that could affect customers who use the (GMT +03:00) Baghdad time zone (also known as the Arabic time zone). We have unofficial reports that the Ministry of Iraq has decided that the country will no longer observe DST as it has in previous years. DST has historically taken effect on April 1, 2008. Currently it seems that the change is likely. However, the change could be reversed at any time. This hotfix updates the (GMT +03:00) Baghdad time zone to use the new time zone information beginning in April 2008.

Note The builds of CDO 1.2.1 and MAPI COD 1.2.1 that were released in December 2007 already contain the necessary information to comply with the change. Therefore, no additional update is required. Make sure that you have the latest builds installed from the December 2007 update. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
945835 (http://kbalertz.com/Feedback.aspx?kbNumber=945835/) Exchange Server 2003 MAPI CDO 1.2.1 and CDO 1.2.1 have been updated for daylight saving time rollup 1 (RU1): December 2007
