How to contact a Microsoft Product Activation Center

INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to contact a Microsoft Product Activation Center to activate installations of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Microsoft Office suites and programs.
Note Telephone numbers for Microsoft Product Activation Centers are not listed in this article because there are many regional Product Activation Centers worldwide. However, you can use this article to find out how to contact the appropriate Product Activation Center.

You can determine how to contact the appropriate regional Microsoft Product Activation Center by selecting the Activate by Telephone option in the Product Activation Wizard when you install a Microsoft product that requires activation. When you select your country or your region, the appropriate telephone number will be displayed.

How to access the Product Activation Wizard

If the Product Activation Wizard is not open, follow these steps to start the wizard:

Windows Vista

1.Click StartStart button.
2.Right-click Computer.
3.Select Properties.
4.Click Activate Windows.

Windows XP

1.Click Start.
2.Point to All Programs.
3.Point to Accessories.
4.Point to System Tools.
5.Click Activate Windows.

Office programs, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and so on

2007 Microsoft Office

1.Click Start.
2.Point to All Programs.
3.Point to Microsoft Office.
4.Click any Office program.
5.As soon as the Office program starts, click the Office button.
6.Click program_name Options. (For example, click Word Options or Excel Options.)
7. Click Resources.
8.On the activate Microsoft Office line, click Activate.

Microsoft Office 2003 or earlier versions of Microsoft Office programs

1.Click Start.
2.Point to All Programs.
3.Point to Microsoft Office.
4.Click any Office program.
5.As soon as the Office program starts, the Office Activation Wizard will be displayed.
