Expensive Transact-SQL queries are generated in the back-end instance of SQL Server when you perform a search in SharePoint Server 2007

SYMPTOMS

On the Advanced Search page in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, you add a property restriction as a search condition. When you perform a search that is based on the property, the search may time out, or it may take a long time to finish.

When this occurs, expensive Transact-SQL queries are generated in the back-end instance of Microsoft SQL Server. This may cause a decrease in performance in the back-end instance of SQL Server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install hotfix 950280.
