INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issues that are not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
When you try to compact and to repair a database in a shared folder, a new database is created. The new database is named as the default name for that version of Access. For Access 2003, the name is "Db1.mdb." For Access 2007, the name is "Database1.mdb." However, the old database is not compacted and not deleted, but the new database is compacted. The same problem occurs if the Compact on Close database option is selected.
Access 2007 may take a long time to respond when you modify a query from within Design view. This behavior occurs if the tables that the query is based on are from an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) database data source.

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back. Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what didn't.

Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry edits), please consult a professional.
