You may not be redirected to the correct Web site when you click a hyperlink in Excel, in PowerPoint, or in Word

Article ID:949282
Last Review:March 5, 2008
Revision:1.0

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
•You click a hyperlink in a document in one of the following Microsoft Office programs:
•Microsoft Office Excel 2007
•Microsoft Office Excel 2003
•Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007
•Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003
•Microsoft Office Word 2007
•Microsoft Office Word 2003
•The hyperlink redirects you to another Web site.
In this scenario, you may not be redirected to the correct Web site. For example, assume that you click http://www.widgets-inc.widgets and that this hyperlink is set for redirection to http://www.widgets.msn.com. However, you are redirected to a Web site other than http://www.widgets.msn.com.

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back. Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what didn't.

Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry edits), please consult a professional.
