Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, or Word 2007 may crash when you click an Office Online category, click the Installed Templates category, or search for templates
SYMPTOMS
Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Microsoft Office PowerPoint
2007, or Microsoft Office Word 2007 may crash when you perform any of
the following actions:
- Click any Office Online category
- Click the Installed Templates
category
- Search for templates
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the "Disable customer-submitted
templates downloads from Office Online" policy setting is enabled. Therefore,
the customer-submitted templates gallery is never created.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, disable the "Disable
customer-submitted templates downloads from Office Online" policy setting. To
do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run,
type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.
- Expand User Configuration, expand
Administrative Templates, expand Microsoft Office 2007
system, and then click Tools
| Options | General | Web Options.
- Double-click the Disable customer-submitted
templates downloads from Office Online policy setting, click Not Configured,
and then click OK.
- Click Start, click Run,
type gpupdate /force, and then click
OK.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
