INTRODUCTION

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

When you run a full-text search on a server that is running SQL Server 2000, you may experience the following symptoms:
The query may stop responding.
CPU usage is at 100%.
The Mssearch.exe process accounts for most of the CPU usage.

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Note Unlike other hotfixes for SQL Server 2000, the setup of this hotfix does not run on x64-based systems as expected. Microsoft will provide new information when it is available. This hotfix may not contain all the files that you must have to fully update a product to the latest build. This hotfix contains only the files that you must have to correct the issues that are listed in this article.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

How to get download option, SP4 for Sql Server 2000. I want to create the DSN (Configure ODBC) from the Windows Vista when the Server is Windows Server 2003.
