How to manually uninstall Antigen 9.0 for Exchange in a clustered environment

INTRODUCTION
This article describes how to manually uninstall Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange in a Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS)-based environment.
Note This article applies only to build versions earlier than to 9.0.1055.33. Starting from build 9.0.1055.33 AntigenIMC resource is no longer part of the cluster resource.

To manually uninstall Antigen 9.0, follow these steps.
Step 1: Remove the AntigenIMC resource
- In the active node in the cluster, click Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel, and then click Antigen 9.0.
- Click Uninstall, and then click OK. Similarly, remove Antigen from any other active nodes in the cluster.
- After you uninstall Antigen from all the active nodes, uninstall Antigen 9.0 from all the passive nodes in the cluster.
- Manually check that all the Antigen folders are removed from the local disk and from the shared disks.
- Use the Cluster Administrator console of the cluster to verify that the AntigenIMC resource has been removed from the cluster resources.
- If the AntigenIMC resource has been successfully removed, go to step 11 in this section. If the AntigenIMC resource has not been removed, go to step 7 in this section.
- In the active node in the cluster, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- On the Edit menu, click Find, type AntigenIMC, and then click OK.
- Note the GUID in which the registry entry is contained.
- Click My Computer, and then open the MSCS folder. There is a folder that has the same name as the GUID that you noted in step 9. Delete this folder.
- Use the Cluster Administrator console to delete the AntigenIMC cluster resource.
Step 2: Modify the registry
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
- In the active node in the cluster, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- On the Edit menu, click Find, type SMTP Virtual Server, and then click OK.
- Expand this key, and then open the Regsync subkey.
- Delete all the registry entries that refer to the Antigen registry key.
- If there are no entries under the subkey after you delete all the entries that refer to the Antigen registry keys, delete the Regsync subkey.
- On the Edit menu, click Find, type Exchange Information Store, and then click OK.
- Expand this key, and then open the Regsync subkey.
- Delete all the registry entries that refer to the Antigen registry key.
- If there are no entries under the subkey after you delete all the entries that refer to the Antigen registry keys, delete the Regsync subkey.
- For each Exchange virtual server (EVS) in the cluster, follow these steps:
- Repeat steps 5 through 11 in the "Step 1: Remove AntigenIMC resource" section.
- Repeat steps 1 through 9 in the "Step 2: Modify the registry" section.
- Take each EVS offline. Then, bring each EVS online.
