The CPU on a computer that is running the NET Framework 2.0 consumes excessive system resources when you marshal an object array across a domain boundary
SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario:
- You have a computer that is running the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.
- An object graph of more than 40 objects is passed to or from a cross-domain remoting call.
In this scenario, the computer's CPU consumes excessive system resources. Additionally, the remoting application may stop responding if the CPU continues to consume excessive system resources for several minutes.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods:
- Pass objects in smaller chunks across the AppDomain barrier.
- Use the COMPlus_UseNewCrossDomainRemoting environment variable, and set the variable to zero.
Note This method may adversely affect system performance.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
