Consider the following scenario. In a Microsoft SQL Server 2005-based application or in SQL Server Management Studio, you try to query data from a column of the XML data type or from a variable of the XML data type. You do this on a Windows Vista-based computer. In this scenario, you may receive the following error message:This problem may occur in certain circumstances when you to try to retrieve lots of XML data from an XML data type field.

File information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

To work around this problem, drop the XML schema validation from the column of the XML data type or from the variable of the XML data type.
