Description of the upgrade licensing process for Antigen 9.0
On This Page
INTRODUCTION
This article describes the upgrade licensing process for
Microsoft Antigen 9.0.
MORE INFORMATION
Scenario 1: Upgrading from Antigen 8.0 build 1517 to Antigen 9.0
When you upgrade from Sybari Antigen 8.0 to Antigen 9.0, follow
these steps:
- Purchase Antigen 9.0 at the Microsoft
Volume Licensing Web site. Or, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
- Download Antigen 9.0 from Microsoft Volume Licensing Web
site.
- Run the Antigen 9.0 Setup.exe file that is included in the
downloaded package to upgrade Antigen 8.0 to Antigen 9.0. Your settings from
the Antigen 8.0 installation are saved.
Notes - Only upgrades from Antigen 8.0 build 1517 to Antigen 9.0
are supported. If you are running a build that is earlier than Antigen 8.0
build 1517, you must update to Antigen 8.0 build 1517 before you upgrade to
Antigen 9.0.
- The Antigen 9.0 installation package includes the license
file. If you want to install Antigen 9.0, download the Antigen 9.0 installation
package, and then run the Setup.exe file. The conditions for installing Antigen
9.0 differ from earlier installations of Antigen. These earlier installations
of Antigen required a separate download of a License.cfg file and additional
installation steps.
Scenario 2: Upgrading from a trial version or an evaluation version of Antigen 9.0 to a fully licensed version
When you upgrade from a trial version or an evaluation version of
Antigen 9.0 to a fully licensed version, follow these steps:
- Use your logon credentials to download the licensed copy of
Antigen 9.0 from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Web site.
If you do not know your logon credentials, visit the following Microsoft Web
site:Or, send an e-mail message to the following e-mail address for
help:
ffscc@microsoft.com
- Run the Setup.exe file.
The
installation will recognize the existing trial installation and will
use the fully licensed license file to prompt your
existing evaluation license file. When
you click Yes to
the prompt, only
the new license file is
installed. A full reinstallation of Antigen 9.0
is not performed. Additionally,
the
previous configuration settings are saved.
Note In this scenario, it is assumed that a trial version or
an evaluation version of Antigen 9.0 is installed on the server.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
