SYMPTOMS

In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 mail environment, you experience an issue in which the public folder hierarchy replication fails. When this issue occurs, the various public folder servers hold various versions of the replica list. Some clients may display all items in the folder while other clients may display only partial content or no content. Additionally, you notice the following event in the Application log:


Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeIS Public Store
Event Category: Replication Errors
Event ID: 3091
Description: Error 0x8007000e occurred while processing an incoming replication message.
Folder: (98-5EFA7) NON_IPM_SUBTREE\EFORMS REGISTRY\Organization Forms

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Prerequisites

This hotfix requires Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 to be installed on the server because of file dependency.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However, the following services are restarted automatically when you apply this hotfix:
  • The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service
  • The Microsoft Search service
  • The Internet Information Services (IIS) Admin Service and all dependent services
