You receive an error message when you try to integrate Accounting Professional or Accounting Express with Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007

SYMPTOMS

When you try to integrate Microsoft Office Accounting with Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you receive one of the following error messages.
Error message 1
Business Contact Manager for Outlook database is in an incompleted integration state, probably due to previous unsuccessful integration attempt. Please restore the Business Contact Manager for Outlook database to its pre-integrated state and then try to integrate again. Thank You!
Error message 2
The Business Contact Manager for Outlook Integration Wizard did not successfully complete the process due to the following error:
Outlook Business Contact Manager integration <BCM database name> with <Company Name> cannot continue because database collation is different.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if either of the following conditions is true:
  • Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 contains an error in a database table. In this situation, you receive the first error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.
  • Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 was upgraded from an earlier version. This version used a different database collation. In this situation, you receive the second error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps.

Export the data from the existing Business Contact Manager database

  1. Start Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
  2. On the Business Contact Manager menu, point to Database Tools, and then click Import and Export.
  3. Click Export a file, and then click Next.
  4. Click Business Contact Manager data (.bcm), and then click Next.
  5. Click Export Everything, and then click Next.
  6. Follow the appropriate step:
    • To locate the file into which you want to export the data, click Browse. Then, click Next.
    • Keep the default file in the File to export box, and then click Next.
  7. To start the export process, click Next.
  8. Click Close when the export process is complete.

Create a new Business Contact Manager database

  1. Start Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
  2. On the Business Contact Manager menu, point to Database Tools, and then click Create or select a database.
  3. Click Create a new database, enter a name in the Database name box, and then click Next.

    Note A progress indicator appears when the new database is being created.

Import the Business Contact Manager data into the new database

  1. Start Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
  2. On the Business Contact Manager menu, point to Database Tools, and then click Import and Export.
  3. Click Import a file, and then click Next.
  4. Click Business Contact Manager data (.bcm), and then click Next.
  5. Click Browse, and then click the file that you specified in step 6 of the "Export the data from the existing Business Contact Manager database" procedure. Then, click Next.
  6. To start the import process, click Next.
  7. Click Close when the import process is complete.

Rerun the "Integrate with Business Contact Manager for Outlook" wizard

  1. Start Microsoft Office Accounting.
  2. On the Company menu, click Integrate with Business Contact Manager, and then click Next.
  3. In the Business Contact Manager for Outlook databases list, click the new database that you created, and then click Next.
  4. Follow the steps in the "Integrate with Business Contact Manager for Outlook" wizard.

I got the second error you mention. I've tried this procedure three times, but still get the same message. My Outlook 2007 is in Spanish and SBA is in English. Thank You

I use the same language for each bcm07 & OA07. I followed the procedure u mentioned perfectly but for some reason, it won't import all of the biz history (ie. notes, fax #'s, etc.) for some reason, everything pre 08 is there but only few of the new items are imported. how can I see what the issues are so I can fix the data file to import all of the correct bcm 03 info?
