Error message when you try to export a list or a report from Accounting Professional or from Accounting Express to Excel 2007: "There was a problem starting Excel"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to export a list or a report from Microsoft Office Accounting Professional or from Microsoft Office Accounting Express to Microsoft Office Excel 2007, you receive the following error message:
There was a problem starting Excel

CAUSE

This problem occurs if Excel 2007 is configured to run in compatibility mode.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Start Excel 2007.
  2. Click the Microsoft Office Button

    , and then click Excel Options.
  3. Click the Save tab, and then click Excel Workbook (*.xlsx) in the Save files in this format list.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Exit Excel 2007.
