Error message when you try to process a credit card or when you sign in to the credit card processing service in Accounting Professional 2007 or in Accounting Express 2007: "Windows Live cannot connect to the authentication service"
SYMPTOMS
You may receive the following error message in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional 2007 or in Microsoft Office Accounting Express 2007:
Windows Live cannot connect to the authentication service.
This problem may occur when you try to process a credit card. Or, this problem may occur when you sign in to the credit card processing service in the
Payment Services dialog box.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the settings in Windows Internet Explorer conflict with the
Windows Live login feature in the
Payment Services dialog box in Accounting Professional 2007 or in Accounting Express 2007.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, reset the security settings in Windows Internet Explorer to the default level. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click Security.
- On the Security tab, click Reset all zones to default level.
- Click Apply.
