The "Prevent users from adding PSTs to Outlook profiles and/or prevent using Sharing-Exclusive PSTs" setting is configured incorrectly in the Office Customization Tool and in the Group Policy templates
SYMPTOMS
When you configure the
Prevent users from adding
PSTs to Outlook profiles and/or prevent using Sharing-Exclusive PSTs
setting in the Office Customization Tool (OCT), the feature is configured
incorrectly. In this situation, users can still create .pst files in Microsoft
Office Outlook. Additionally, users can still use .pst files in
Outlook.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the information is incorrect in
the Outlk12.adm file and in the Outlk12.opa file.
RESOLUTION
This
issue is corrected in an updated set of ADM and OPA files that are provided in
the "2007 Office system Administrative Template files (ADM, ADMX, ADML) and
Office Customization Tool version 2.0" package.
To resolve this issue
in the Office Customization Tool, follow these steps:
- To download the "2007 Office system Administrative Template
files (ADM, ADMX, ADML) and Office Customization Tool version 2.0" package,
visit the following Microsoft Web site:
- After you download the package, double-click the
AdminTemplates.exe file to start the extraction, and then save the extracted
files to a folder.
- Replace the Office installation

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
