Error message when you use SoftGrid Client Management to try to update a Desktop Configuration Server: "Error code: <xxxxxx-xxxxxx>0A-80068003"

SYMPTOMS

When you use SoftGrid Client Management to try to update a Desktop Configuration Server, you receive the following error message:
The SoftGrid Client failed to download MIME information from ServerName.
The SoftGrid Client detected a socket-related error. Please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please report the following error code to your System Administrator
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx0A-80068003

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the SoftGrid Client cannot communicate with the Virtual Application Server. This problem may occur if any one of the following conditions is true:
  • There is a general network failure.
  • The host name is not valid.
  • You use an environment variable in the Host Name box.

    Note You cannot use an environment variable to specify the name of the Virtual Application Server in the SoftGrid Client Management console.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, make sure that you specify a valid host name on the Servers tab of the SoftGrid Client. Also, make sure that the SoftGrid Client can communicate with the host.

When this problem occurs, the Sft.txt client log file may contain entries that resemble the following:

[03/12/2007 16:15:01.186 MIME ERR] {tid=220:usr=UserName}
The server 'Softgrid server' was not found (error 2, rc 05E03604-00000904).

[03/12/2007 16:15:03.453 JGSW ERR] {tid=660:usr=UserName}
The SoftGrid client encountered an error sending a request to a server (rc 0430080a-80068003, FS status 0x80068003).

[03/12/2007 16:15:03.484 ???? ERR] {tid=220:usr=UserName}
The SoftGrid Client failed to download MIME information from Softgrid server. The SoftGrid Client detected a socket-related error. Please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please report the following error code to your System Administrator. Error code: 321009-0430080A-80068003
