CAUSE

This problem occurs when the Sftdcc.exe program does not initialize.

RESOLUTION

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.

To resolve this problem, make sure that the path of the Sftdcc.exe file matches the path that is specified in the Windows registry. By default, the Sftdcc.exe file is located in one of the following folders:
  • %ProgramFiles%\Softricity\SoftGrid for Terminal Servers
  • %ProgramFiles%\Softricity\SoftGrid for Windows Desktops
Additionally, make sure that streaming applications have read and right permissions to the Sftdcc.exe file.

To verify the location of the Sftdcc.exe file, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and then expand SOFTWARE.
  3. Expand Softricity, and then expand SoftGrid Client.
  4. Expand CurrentVersion, and then click Configuration.
  5. In the details pane, double-click InstallPath.

The expected path of the Sftdcc.exe file appears in the Value Data box.
  6. Click Cancel, and then exit Registry Editor.
  7. In Windows Explorer, make sure that the path that you noted in step 5 is the actual path of the Sftdcc.exe file.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft SoftGrid for Terminal Services
  • Microsoft SoftGrid for Windows Desktops

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions.
