Error message when you try to start an application in SoftGrid Client: "The SoftGrid Client could not find the XML file specified. Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx45-00000002"
SYMPTOMS
When you try to start an application in Microsoft SoftGrid Client, the application does not start. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The SoftGrid Client could not launch the application you requested.
The SoftGrid Client could not find the XML file specified. Please verify that you entered the file name correctly. If this problem persists, please report the following error code to your System Administrator.
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx45-00000002
CAUSE
This issue may occur when the cached .osd file for the application that you are trying to start does not exist in the "OSD Cache" directory.
This situation can occur when the contents of the "OSD Cache" directory are manually removed. We recommend that you do not manually remove the contents of this directory unless you are directed to do this by a Microsoft Customer Support Service technician.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, stop and then restart the SoftGrid Client service.
