Error message when you try to run the MOA7024Express.exe file to install Microsoft Office Accounting Express 2007: "MOA7024Express.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to run the MOA7024Express.exe file to install Microsoft Office Accounting Express 2007, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\location on computer\MOA7024Express.exe is not a valid Win32 application
This problem occurs after you download the MOA7024Express.exe file from the Internet.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if one of the following conditions is true:
  • The download of the MOA7024Express.exe file is not finished.
  • The MOA7024Express.exe file is corrupted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Locate and then delete the MOA7024Express.exe file.
  2. Delete the contents of the Temporary Internet files folder. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
    2. On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet files.
    3. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box, and then click OK two times.
  3. Download the MOA7024Express.exe file. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Visit one of the following Web sites:
    2. In the File Download - Security Warning dialog box, click Save.
    3. In the Save As dialog box, specify a location, and then click Save.
    4. When the download is finished, run the MOA7024Express.exe file to install Accounting Express 2007.
Notes
  • The size of the MOA7024Express.exe file is 208 MB. If you try to run a file that is smaller than 208 MB, you will experience the problem that is described in the "Symptoms" section.
