SYMPTOMS

Grid controls on Microsoft Project Web Access pages no longer function as expected if either of the following conditions is true:
  • You installed the Microsoft Internet Explorer ActiveX update that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
    912945  (http://kbalertz.com/Feedback.aspx?kbNumber=912945/ ) Internet Explorer ActiveX update
  • You installed the MS06-013 cumulative security update for Internet Explorer that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
    912812  (http://kbalertz.com/Feedback.aspx?kbNumber=912812/ ) MS06-013: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer
For example, if you rest the pointer on an Active X grid control, a ScreenTip that contains the following text appears:
Click to activate and use this control
Alternatively, if you access this grid control by pressing ALT+PERIOD, a ScreenTip that contains the following text appears:
Press SPACEBAR or ENTER to activate and use this control

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, click the ActiveX grid control to enable it on the Project Web Access page.

Note This problem no longer occurs after you install the Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 post-Service Pack 2a hotfix package that is dated July 31, 2006. For more information about this hotfix package, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
