Consider the following scenario. An author deletes a page that is stored on a large Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2001 database. Other authors perform authoring actions. In this scenario, the other authors may receive authoring error messages. The error messages may resemble the following:
Error: Error in Page Creation using ROM
Description: Failures occurred during the multi-object commit…
Details: Extended error: [What='Transaction (Process ID XXX) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.']
This problem occurs because temporary tables in Microsoft SQL Server are scanned repeatedly.
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
To apply this hotfix, follow these steps:
- Start SQL Query Analyzer on the instance of SQL Server that is hosting the MCMS 2001 database. To do this, click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server, and then click Query Analyzer.
- On the Query menu, click Change Database.
- In the Select Database dialog box, click the MCMS 2001 database, and then click OK.
- On the File menu, click Open, locate the Kb919491.sql script file, and then click Open.
- On the Query menu, click Execute.
