Message when a user views a Web page that contains a form: "[FrontPage Save Results Component]"

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You are running FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft or FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions from Microsoft. On a Web page, you configure a form to send data to an e-mail address. However, when a user views the Web page, the user receives the following message:
[FrontPage Save Results Component]
If the user tries to submit the data on the form, a blank Web page appears.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • The e-mail server is a UNIX-based server.
  • In the e-mail address that you specified for the form, the characters are in the incorrect case. For example, the e-mail address contains an incorrect combination of uppercase and lowercase characters.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the correct case when you specify the e-mail address for the form. The UNIX environment is case sensitive.

Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what didn't.

Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry edits), please consult a professional.
