ActiveSync 4.x does not support remote synchronization for Windows Mobile-based devices
INTRODUCTION
Microsoft ActiveSync 4.
x does not support remote synchronization for Microsoft Windows Mobile-based devices. Because remote synchronization does not allow for strong authentication, we have determined that this feature is a security risk. Therefore, we have removed the remote synchronization feature from the following versions of ActiveSync:
- ActiveSync 4.2
- ActiveSync 4.1
- ActiveSync 4.0
MORE INFORMATION
Earlier versions of ActiveSync enable remote synchronization for Windows Mobile-based devices. Therefore, you can perform remote synchronization. For example, in ActiveSync 3.7.1, the remote synchronization feature is available. Additionally, a synchronization option is enabled. The synchronization option that is enabled lets you synchronize a Windows Mobile-based device either by using a wireless network connection or by using a server. This is the default configuration.
In ActiveSync 3.8, the remote synchronization feature is available. However, all synchronization options for this feature are disabled in the default configuration. Therefore, you cannot perform remote synchronization.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
