How to select a civilization in Age of Empires III

This article describes how to select a civilization in Microsoft Age of Empires III.

In Age of Empires III, you can build your empire from a list of civilizations. You can select from the following list of civilizations:
- Spanish
- British
- French
- Portuguese
- Dutch
- Russian
- German
- Ottoman
To select a civilization, follow these steps:
- On the main menu of the game, click Single Player, and then click Skirmish. You see the Home Cities options screen.
- Click Manage Home Cities.
- Click Create a new Home City.
- Click the flag icon under the Civilization option.
- Click the civilization that you want, and then click OK.
- Click Create, and then click Play.
