Error message that you may receive is similar to the following when you start the Plus! Space screen saver: "Plus! Space has encountered a problem and needs to close"

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Plus! Space screen saver that is included with Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Plus! Space has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
You may also experience this issue when you preview the Plus! Space screen saver on the Screen Saver tab in the Display Properties dialog box.

Note This issue occurs only with the Plus! Space screen saver that is included with Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because of an incompatibility between the Plus! Space screen saver software and the changes in the current video driver.

Note You may experience this issue after you upgrade the Windows XP default graphics adapter to the video driver that is supplied with the graphics card.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install a different version of the video driver for your video card. Visit the video card manufacturer’s Web site and download the latest version of the video driver.

Note If you experience this issue with the latest version of the video driver, you may have to install an earlier version of the video driver. Contact the video card manufacturer for information about how to find and install earlier drivers.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, select an alternative screen saver that is included with Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP.
