When you try to install an agent or update agent settings by using the
Update Agent Settings command on a Microsoft Operations Manager 2005-based computer, the following error message is logged:
Description:
The MOM Server failed to update agent settings on managed computer Computer Name. So the secure port, mutual authentication, action account settings, and software updates might not be applied correctly.
Error Code: -2147023257
Error Description: Invalid command line argument. Consult the Windows Installer SDK for detailed command line help.
Microsoft Installer Error Description: No Description Available
Type: Error
Provider Name: Internally-generated Event
Event Number: 21095
Provider Type: Generic Provider
Source: Microsoft Operations Manager
This problem only occurs when the password of the agent action account contains a space or a semicolon.
This problem occurs because the SetActionAccount.exe utility will not accept a space or semicolon in a password when you try to change passwords on an agent action account.
To work around this problem, remove any spaces or semicolons in the password of the agent action account.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
