Description of the "Error 1619 installing sqlncli.dll" error message that you may receive when you install SQL Server 2005
INTRODUCTION
This article describes the "Error 1619
installing sqlncli.dll" error message that you may receive when you install Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
MORE INFORMATION
When you install SQL Server 2005, you may receive the
following error message:
Error 1619 installing sqlncli.dll
Additionally, the SQL Server 2005 Setup program exits.
This error message
means that the installation package that includes the Sqlncli.dll file cannot be opened.
For example, you may install SQL Server 2005 from a network. Typically, this
issue occurs because of a network failure or because of insufficient user rights to access the package file.
In this case, you must verify the
installation package file to make sure that the file exists and is a valid
Microsoft Windows Installer package. To verify the file, contact the application vendor or the
network administrator.
APPLIES TO
