Slide transitions and animations do not play when you run a slide show in PowerPoint

SYMPTOMS

When you preview slide transitions and animations in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, slide transitions and animations play as expected. However, when you run a slide show of the presentation, slide transitions and animations do not play as expected.

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the Show without animation check box in the Set Up Show dialog box is selected.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Open the PowerPoint presentation.
  2. On the Slide Show menu, click Set Up Show.
  3. Click to clear the Show without animation check box.
  4. Click OK.
