Some Windows Forms controls are blank in .NET Framework 1.1 and 1.0 applications

SYMPTOMS

When you enable the buffer overflow protection feature in McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i, you experience problems in some Microsoft Windows Forms controls in Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 applications and in .NET Framework 1.0 applications. The following problems occur:
  • The drop-down list in a ComboBox control is blank. When you click the blank drop-down list, an item may appear in the text box in the ComboBox control.
  • The ListBox control and the ListView control are blank. When you click the blank list, items may appear in the ListBox control or in the ListView control.
  • Both the title bar of a MessageBox window and the message in a MessageBox window are blank.

CAUSE

These problems occur because of a problem in McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i.
