You receive a "Clipart cannot complete the operation" error message when you try to insert clip art in an Office program

SYMPTOMS

When you try to insert clip art in a document in a Microsoft Office program, the clip art is not inserted and you receive the following error message:
Clipart cannot complete the operation.

Interface not registered. Error code 0x80040155.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when the Ole32.dll file that is on the computer is not correctly registered. Additionally, this issue may occur if your installation of MicrosoftWindows is damaged

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Register the Ole32.dll file

To register the Ole32.dll file, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 ole32.dll in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Click OK when you receive the following message:
    DllRegisterServer in OLE32.DLL succeeded.

Method 2: Perform an in-place upgrade (reinstallation) of Windows
