I am working with a Dell D820 laptopw ith biometric reader and a SanDisk 1GB Cruzer with biometric reader. I was receiveing erros where I was unable to go to standby due to the USB device driver. I tried to above solution to only find that the check box was gray and unable to be changed. It turns out that the setting was being over-ridden by the BIOS settings. I changed the setting in the BIOS to allow USB deviced to wake the system from standby and it solved the problem.
