You may receive an error message when you try to publish assignments from Project Professional 2002 to Project Server 2003
SYMPTOMS
When you try to publish assignments from Microsoft Project Professional 2002 to Microsoft Office Project Server
2003, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
An error occurred while trying to access Microsoft Project Server.
This could be caused by the following:
* Low memory.
* Some components might not be installed or registered properly on your computer.
* Some components might have become unstable.
Try the following:
* Free up available memory by closing any programs, projects, or windows you are
not using, and then try again.
* Reboot the computer.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur if you download the Microsoft Office Project Add-in for Outlook from Microsoft Office Project Web Access 2003 and you use Project
Professional 2002. This unregisters some components in Project Professional 2002.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:
- Run SETUP.EXE from the Microsoft Project Professional 2002 CD.
- Click Repair Microsoft Project Professional - Restore your Microsoft Project Professional 2002 installation to its original state, and then click Next.
- Click Detect and Repair errors in my Microsoft Project installation, and then click Install.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office Project Server 2003
- Microsoft Project 2002 Professional Edition
Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
