RESOLUTION

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To resolve this issue, you must export certain registry subkeys from a computer that has Microsoft Plus! successfully installed, and then you must import those registry subkeys to the computer that is experiencing the problem:
  1. On a computer that has Microsoft Plus! successfully installed, click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and click each of the following registry subkeys, and then click Export on the File menu:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{4483F4FF-B6C2-44ED-90CB-85682751E106}

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{6F852DEB-D3DB-4A20-854A-B31DF78DF490}

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{F725F96A-94E9-49AA-9B82-9CBC0260E067}

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{4483F4FF-B6C2-44ED-90CB-85682751E106}

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{6F852DEB-D3DB-4A20-854A-B31DF78DF490}

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{F725F96A-94E9-49AA-9B82-9CBC0260E067}
  3. Save each of these subkeys to a familiar location. For example, save them to the Desktop.
  4. Transfer these files to the computer that is experiencing the problem. To do this, save the files to a removable storage medium such as a recordable CD, and then copy the files by using a network path or e-mail.
  5. Locate and double-click each file that you exported in step 2, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to add the information that is contained in the file to your system registry.
  6. Repeat step 5 for each file that you want to import.

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back. Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what didn't.

Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry edits), please consult a professional.

Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
