FIX: XML for Analysis connections are not shared or released from the connection pool

Article ID:831901
Last Review:October 25, 2005
Revision:1.4
Bug #: 14203 (Plato7x)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft XML for Analysis Software Development Kit version 1.0 to connect to and to query Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services, the connections in the connection pool will not be reused by later connections. Also, the connections in the connection pool will not be released when the time period specified by the UNNAMEDSESSIONTIMEOUT value expires. This can cause Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) or the DLLHOST process to run out of memory because each connection will consume memory for its cache.

Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.
