You receive a "Server https://servername could not be contacted or contains no document administrative components" error message when you try use a Secure Sockets Layer Web site to add a document management server in SharePoint Portal Server 2003
In SharePoint Portal Server 2003 when you try to use a
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Web site (for example,
https://
servername) to add a document management
server to a server farm, you may receive the following error message where
servername is the name of your SharePoint Portal
Server:
Server
https://servername could not be contacted or
contains no document administrative components. Make sure the fact that the
server is available or installs you for document administrative components on
this server.
This problem may occur if a trusted certificate was not
installed on the computer where you want to add the document management
server.
To work around this problem, install a trusted certificate
on the computer where you want to add the document management
server.
Microsoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
