Update Install Requires the Original Setup Files

SYMPTOMS
When you try to update Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition, you may be prompted for the original disc or for the source of the installation.

CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the Setup files for Plus! Digital Media Edition have been deleted. These Setup files are stored in the
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\temp folder when you install Plus! Digital Media Edition and are required when you install updates.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, follow the steps that are appropriate to your situation.
Installation from Disc
If you installed Plus! Digital Media Edition from disc, follow these steps:
| 1. | Insert the Plus! Digital Media disc in the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. |
| 2. | If the Setup program does not start: | a. | Click
Start, and then click Run. | | b. | In the Open box, type the following, where drive is the letter of your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive: drive:\setup | | c. | Click OK. |

| 3. | When you receive the following message, click Cancel: Welcome to the Plus! Digital Media Edition Installation Wizard
This wizard enables you to add or remove Plus! Digital Media Edition components or remove Plus! Digital Media Edition from your computer. |
| 4. | Install the update. |
Installation from Web
If you downloaded Plus! Digital Media Edition from the Web or if you are missing your installation disc, follow these steps:
Note You must have your Plus! Digital Media Edition product key to complete these steps.
| 1. | Click Start, and then click Control Panel. |
| 2. | Double-click Add or Remove Programs. |
| 3. | Click Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition, and then click Remove. |
| 4. | Follow the prompts to remove Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition. |
| 5. | Download and install the updated version of Plus! Digital Media Edition. To do so, click the following link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=12581 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=12581) |
